Denny Throneburg's Biography


Coach Throneburg is one of the most widely recognized figures in softball.  He was the Head Coach at Casey-Westfield for 22 years where his teams compiled an amazing 647-56 record, a winning percentage of 92%, a national record for that span of years.  The Lady Warriors captured six state titles and 22 conference championships while compiling a conference record of 115-1.  Coach Throneburg had 68 players sign softball scholarships.  Coach Throneburg is a 2-time National High School Coach of the Year and a member of the Illinois Girls Coaches Association Hall of Fame.  Coach Throneburg was also inducted into the Illinois ASA Hall of Fame for his playing and coaching accomplishments.  In addition to being the Director of First Class Pitching, Coach Throneburg is also the Athletic Director at Lake Land College where he coached the Lakers to their first national tournament appearance in his first year.  In four years the Lakers have an overall record of 158-42 and a conference record of 104-15.
